Poland have decided to look for Nazi war criminals. I think this is the most stupid, bitter, bit of dick waving Jews could do in Poland. Modern day Jews are a disgrace. They aren't forgiving, they aren't compassionate, they are only interested in drawing attention to how badly their ancestors were treated. Get over it. The Romans were mean to my ancestors.

Facts. WWII ended in 1945. If someone was 20 when it ended, they are 86 today.

So ...
Anyone asked to stand trial will easily be able to say they are too ill to stand trial.
No one in the court room was there. The barristers, the judges, the jury. They have no idea what it was like. How dare they judge them?
If you aged 20 were a German soldier, brought up in Hitler youth and of low rank, are you going to stand up to an entire rank of command above you running a concentration camp? I mean seriously? You would be the lowest rank and very very young. You are going to do the job you are ordered to do.

They had 6 decades to catch the really bad guys. They are all long dead. Why is Poland going after elderly men for 'crimes' they committed as teenagers in many cases?

Yes, concentration camps were a very bad thing, but it is history. Leave it there and let these poor old German bastards see out the last of their days in peace. Shame on you Poland, you petty tw*ts. I hope Germany will tell you to GTFO and say enough is enough.

Simply being "ordered" to do something isn't a sufficient justification for following the order if you believe it to be unlawful or immoral.  That being said, 80 + year old men being charged for crimes they committed 6 decades ago is ludicrous.

It an ongoing thing in Poland. Some people (mostly elderly Catholic conservative females) demand justice. They are a very large group in Poland. Whichever political party appeases them the most gets their votes, which often decide who wins the elections.
It's a matter of time until they kindly die, but hey. That's how things are right now.

The Holocaust was a terrible event for a large group of people. This, however, does not entitle anyone to act like an asshole 60 years later.

Justice is a noble goal, but if they regretted their decision then they've suffered with that for 60 years. If they didn't regret it then they're so close to death that no punishment will have any meaning.

There are still plenty of people alive that endured suffering far beyond your imagining in the concentration camps, why should they be denied justice? You have no idea what it was like, so how dare you deny them justice?

Age is not a valid excuse when it comes to such crimes, nor is acting under orders. International law is rather clear about that point.

My argument is that this is not justice. Do not tell me you would do anything different to those men.

Imagine being 18 years old in the middle of a world war. You are relieved not to be sent to the Russian front. You hope you can see out the war in the safety of a concentration camp. Your mother has probably told you to keep your head down until its all over. You are told by smart men that run your military in expensive Hugo Boss uniforms covered in medals, to do a job. Do you go and get court marshalled on your first day or sent to Russia? Do you think they are going to shut everything down because of your objection Private? Do you have any life experience to tell you that is not the way war should be conducted?

The people they hunt now did not organise concentration camps. They didn't plan them. Decide who should be in them. Run them. Make any choices about them whatsoever. The people they hunt now were German teenagers, stationed in camps by virtue of lottery.

And yes I generalised a group. It is not individuals bringing these stupid cases to court. It is a group. The Jewish in Poland.

I didn't call you a racist. ::)  I'm just commenting on how you so often manage to screw up your points by bringing them up in the worst ways possible.  Yes, what you're saying about Jews is in fact racist.  You're blaming the actions of a few people on everyone in that ethnicity, and your attempts to justify it are weak.

An editorial entitled “Some Other Race” in the New York weekly Forward (A very prestigious Jewish publication) urges Jews to list themselves on the U.S. Government census form as a race. It goes on to suggest:
“… On question eight [of the form, which asks about race], you might consider doing what more than one member of our redaktzia [editorial staff] has done: checking the box ‘some other race’ and writing in the word ‘Jew’.”

"Racism" is a colloquial term frequently used to signify bigotry towards almost any sub-section of the population.  It's a waste of time to argue about whether or not something is technically "racist."

False. Racism means hatred towards a race. You're not allowed to make up definitions for your argument outside of RM. Go away.
