So, where's Antarctica Again?
« on: October 13, 2011, 07:04:19 AM »
Antarctica is a continent, just like any other, sailed around and fully explored.
Please excuse the FAQ, it is not the "ice wall", in fact there is no proof an ice wall exists, just speculation.

What makes more sense, as theorized by Willmire, the outer edge (is far beyond)

If it's a continent instead of an Ice wall, then where is it?

Willmore's map was disproved by Tom Bishop.

Still no valid map from FE'ers.

I dunno, where's Antarctica again?

Definitely not on a FE's map!

Antarctica is only second to Australia in being so hard to place on a map.  For god sakes, we have been there, people are there right now, and yet we can not agree on its shape or even location.  What are it's time zones?  Does it have a midnight sun?  Does it encircle the disk?

We are not living in the 1500s.  We have modern devices like satellites, GPS, cell phones, and microwave ovens.  And I am pretty sure that it is not necessary to knock on wood when telling someone something that you do not want the tree elves to hear lest they make it not so.

Still causes a problem on a FE map.

And what would that be?

Can you elaborate?

On FES, sometimes its like an island, sometimes its an icewall and always wrong.

Yes, there are several theories. Try not to let that confuse you too much.

I am confused because I don't see any validity in all of those theories.
