As I said in the previous thread, it is not only correct, but makes your sentence clearer, as 'learned' can also mean: A person having much knowledge acquired by study.

Bob - I'm not asking what is better.

The question clearly states "Is this grammatically correct".

It's not a question of what you prefer - it's a question of if it is wrong or not.

Actually, my spelling relies on how esthetic I think it is.
Oddly enough I still get straight A's for english, mind you that it's not my first language.
Anyway, according to THIS both are actually correct and the main issue is linguistic heritage.

Your poll is flawed. You trick people into coming here asking, "Is 'learnt' a real word?

Then you ask a completely different question in a poll. Do you expect that a poll was going to solve our dispute. All it does is show how many illiterate people read a forum, bravo.

I voted "Yes." Learnt is certainly grammatically correct (as are burnt, dreamt, leapt etc,.) although it isn't used very much here in the U.S.

I LOVE words that aren't used very much and sound grammatically incorrect, like methinks. I love that word
Although my favourite word is acquiescent, i just think it sounds beautifull.
