When and how did you decide Fox News was corrupt and/or biased?

Any favorite or specific examples?

When I started watching Glen Beck videos.
Any favorite or specific examples?

For instance, one of the first times I turned my head sideways was after I heard Fox quote crop Biden during the election Obama vs McCain. Fox aired a clip of Biden saying, "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" and proceeded to attack him.

In reality, Biden was actually completely opposed to that notion and was in the middle of quoting McCain. Fox completely and intentionally cropped out the context in order to hurt Biden (Obama) and help McCain who was the actual one guilty of that quote.

At ~2:00. I couldn't find the original video.

This one's just amusing:

Nice. Solid evidence of Beck's pathological lying and an admission he never checks his facts.

"OBAMA = COMMUNISM", lol.

Another good example is when Fox attacked the nudity in Mass Effect, calling it hardcore pornography. Not only had they not played the game, but they ignored its rating as well. They still attack video games whenever possible, under just as silly pretenses.

I read Al Franken's book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.  It's a great read, and quite honestly, I would recommend it even to conservatives.

Fox News and the Associated Press are the only two major sources of news in the United States.

Fox News is the only news source which isn't corrupted. They actually report the news. The news they present is the news they've gathered themselves, not something they bought from a shadow organization controlled by the government. Fox does not censor their material at government request. Fox News reports the news in full and without censorship. The editorial opinions and editorial segments may be biased, but that's what an editorial opinion is.

The rest of them, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, USA Today, et. all, are all members of the Associated Press, buys news from them, in addition to publishing their own news through them. This is why you often see multiple news sites publishing the same stories. The Associated Press consists of 1700 newspapers and 5000 television and radio broadcasters. It's very old and very large. The AP regularly censors and pulls stories at the government's request. It's truly an awful organization.

I'm not going to bother going through them all one by one, but several of the "issues" raised in those articles are paranoid nonsense, others are trivial complaints about minor details being left out of articles, and still others are criticisms of the media in general (including Fox), not just the AP.  What few valid points there are come nowhere near the level of bias, political bullshit, and general lack of ethics practiced by Fox.

That's from an editorial and has nothing to do with their news reporting. You're watching a talk show they use to fill in the gaps of their programming. Talk shows shouldn't be confused with news. When you're watching Bill O'Riley you're not watching a news show. You're watching an editorial where he sits down and gives his opinion on things. That's a completely different animal than the Fox 10 O'Clock News.

The fact is that Fox News has superior news reporting than its competitors. They're the only ones who refuse to submit to the tyranny of government censorship.

lol at Tom's trolling.  Epic as usual.

Never mind that when Bush was in office Fox pundits cried treason at the faintest criticism of his administration and now that a Democrat is in office the same pundits are doing those sorts of things to the nth degree.

I too first caught on to the fact that FNC was nothing more than a tool of propaganda for the conservatives by reading Al Franken's book.

Fox hypes up lots of right-wing movements that don't deserve serious media coverage.  A recent example would be the birthers.  They provide similarly biased coverage for any allegation or investigation concerning a Democratic president or presidential candidate, no matter how groundless the charges.  Filegate, Whitewater, John Kerry's military record, Bill Ayers, ACORN, etc.

That's what an opinion is.

You don't think the comics section in your local news paper is "the news," do you? The comics are another form of editorial. You're reading the comics for the opinions and views of the cartoonist.

Fox News' news segments are pristine and unbiased. They do not submit to government tyranny or censor news for the government like other disreputable news organizations. They are not part of the Associated Press empire of censorship. Fox News is the sole and only beacon of freedom and truth in America.

Where has Fox censored its news broadcasts?

Talk Shows like the O'Rilley Factor isn't "the news." Fox sitcoms such as The Simpsons aren't "the news." The Tonight Show with Jay Leno isn't "the news".

All of the above comment on current events, but they are not the news. They are not news segments.

Is Sean Hannity's fox show the Fox 10 O'Clock News, or is it his own personal editorial talk show that he has personal reign over?

Editorials aren't "the news." Comic Strips aren't "the news".

It's not my fault that you don't know the difference between a news show and an editorial. I've explained it to you guys in this thread several times now. If you have trouble understanding simple concepts, don't post.

Ok, let me use your own reasoning on this:
If FN have been found out to doctor a video sequence purporting to be fact (we're not just talking simple bias, but visual manipulation), how can you trust and respect their news output?

It's not my fault that you are recommending an "untrustworthy" source. I'm just trying to help.

Lastly, Sean Hannity does not control the final output of his FN show. He is merely employed by the corporation.

I figured out they were corrupt long ago when they started really pressing those "IS EVERYONE ON THE CROSS TOWN BUS A RAPIST?????? FIND OUT AT 11" segments.  They like to shock and scare their audience into thinking they have the revelations about how sick the world is, making it look worse than it really is for the ratings.  That's all Fox in general gives a shit about, is money and ratings.  This proof is in all the great shows they cancel as well.
