When the daily vote was cast, Nathaniel Lorddave felt himself go green as his name was called out again and again. He'd assumed that nobody would dare to lynch the preacher, after all, he'd watched half the town grow up, he'd christened more than that.
"Saddam, please, stop and think, my child!" He implored, "Wardogg, you were always the one I most thought would walk the righteous path, do not turn away from it now. Marcus, your hands have been clean throughout all of this!"
The crowd moved in macabre silence as Lorddave was led to the belltower of his church and a noose hung around the large bell in the centre.
"Forgive the, Father, they know not what they do..."
Father Lorddave's body fell and rang the bell half a dozen times before it stopped swinging enough for them to inspect it.
it took the coroner less than half a minute to determine it to be human.

Lorddave has been cruelly killed but he was no alien.
