To see whether two objects can see each other you have to add their horizons together, because in RE the horizon increases by a factor of 2 if height is increased by a factor of 4, you can't add together the heights and then take the horizon. If a object needs to be 100m tall to see 10 units, another has to be 1m to see 1 unit, and 81m to see 9 units, as you can see by raising the height of one object by 1m, he have decreased the necessary height of the other object by 19m. I believe Rothbotham and didn't take this into account
