I want to address a certain part of the FAQ
« on: July 06, 2011, 10:56:04 AM »
Specifically, this one.
"Q: "When traveling in a straight direction, you will always reach the same point on the globe from where you started. How can this happen if the world is flat?"

A: You need to have evidence for this to be true. Also, define "straight." Remember, the northern point on the compass is pointing toward the center of the Earth. If you follow your compass due east or due west, ending up at the same point you started from, you have just gone around the world in a circle. Thus, circumnavigation is possible on FE."

You say we need evidence for it? First of all thats kind of hypocritical. Second of all: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_firsts_in_the_Geographic_North_Pole

And don't tell me any of that conspiracy bullshit. I've seen nobody saying anything that even makes sense to back up the conspiracy theory. I mean, the people involved would have pretty much NO motive at all to hide the fact that its flat. There would be nothing to gain and nothing to lose. And yeah I do admit wikipedia is not the most reliable source but they do have those links at the bottom which ARE a reliable source.

Lastly, this website: http://www.physlink.com/education/askexperts/ae535.cfm

P.S. I realize you guys must get hundreds of question and trolls like this every day and I commend you for your patience but you have to realize your theory just doesn't make any sense at all.

It is true. Unfortunately many trolls have infiltrated our superb fora.  However you my friend have looked but have not  seen, and you are clearly under a misapprehension.  I have not once backed anything in the Faq.  You will not get far here in your inquiry when you call things ridiculous with no knowledge whatsoever as to how they might work, or what motives might be lurking behind actions.

Even if the earth were a globe, if one heads "east" or "west" one would be traveling in a circle, not "straight"
Picture yourself at the north pole. Head "south" for ten steps. Now travel "east" where do you wind up?

You realize that your same argument can be made if you substituted the south pole for the north pole?  You can travel in a circle around the south pole as easily as the north pole.

2) You understand that the prevailing theory is a disk-earth, right?

Yet there hasn't been concrete proof of which pole actually constitutes the centre.  A rather large hole in any theory.

To be fair, sometimes what FE'ers say makes so little sense that it's hard to come up with a rebuttal.

Clearly you need to spend a day and further expand your views on this forum.  Clearly from what I've seen you are the only one who leans to a fractally collapsing earth geography and it really never has been expanded further beyond that.

Clearly you shouldn't claim its a whole in any fet if fets exist that solve this very problem.  I have several of people both online and offline that subscribe to (or at least entertain) my work.  Not that it makes a damned bit of difference.  Unless we want to go down the ad populum route.
