I enjoyed it. I thought they over-emphasized the "we shouldn't have to hide" theme a bit, but all-around i thought it was a good addition to the series.

Yes it is better than all of the previous X-men movies in my opinion.

Likewise but it mainly referred to Mystique and Beast. The whole movie was refreshing to watch.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but what I don't understand is why they keep fucking up Mystique's appearance. I mean, compare this:

To her appearance in the comics, which is completely different.

What went wrong, guys? The only reason for this that I have heard is that they had to cover her up to keep the rating. If you wanted to keep the ratings, why did you make Mystique naked? Is it really so difficult to make a femme fatale sexy that you need to stoop to burning her clothes? I mean, in the comics she has the white dress almost all the time when she's in her natural state. She's a shapeshifter for fuck's sake! Why does she not have her "clothes?"

Look at this!

Watchmen has nothing to do with the way they butchered mystique's appearance. It wouldn't exactly have been difficult to have her look like she did in the comics. If they're going to mess with the appearances, then why not get rid of Wolverine's mutton chops or have Colossus with any other haircut? Why did they have a naked mystique? WHY!?

She wears a skin-tight silk dress! How much more sexy can you get? Also, did anyone mention that she isn't a damn cameleon? She's a shapeshifter! Not all mutant powers are based on animals, you know.

Much better movie than the rest in my opinion.  However I too have a problem with mystique, mainly the makeup job they did for the face of mystique and beast are not as good as in the previous movies.  It looks very fake, where as the previous movies did a better job of making them look at least somewhat realistic.   I'm not sure how much of it is makup or CGI, the previous movies just looked better.

I think when she's not doing acrobatical moves that are obviously CGI, most or all of her appearance in the previous movies is make-up. I would think that it's make-up in First Class as well, since it looks kinda like a more expensive version of Star Trek.

Bump. I saw it a couple of days ago. It was pretty good, the acting was decent and Mystique's choosing of sides were played well. I also liked Wolverine's single appearance. Although, I always smell bullshit when a hot girl or a handsome man(In this case both, obviously) starts the "you're beautiful the way you are" routine. Not that I would imagine there's some other way to do it with Hollywood's obsession with casting beautiful people in any movie, no matter what the theme is.

Wolverine is supposed to be short. That's why he's called Wolverine. That's why he has (or is supposed to have) a chip on his shoulder about everyone bigger than him.

He's also supposed to have a rough appearance. He has at least once referred to himself as "a man of the short, ugly and hairy variety." Casting Hugh Jackman is technically not that great a choice based on looks alone, but he carries the part so well I'm willing to forgive that.
