But why?
« on: June 08, 2011, 12:03:22 PM »
I have read the theories and some of the data, looked at the experiments and math for the flat earth and either way it doesn't matter to me, but I have one question.

Why?

If the earth is round everything works out beautifully. The planets align and move in easily predictable patterns. All of my maps are correct.  Most of science is correct, and best of all everything is simple. Well except for quantum mechanics that's just kooky in both worlds.

So why try so hard to make the earth flat when everything works better and easier when its round?

Unless it's all a joke and then it makes perfect sense.

Yes but standing on a large enough irregular sphere would also "look" flat to the observer. Many things in the world are optical illusions, your eyes can not be trusted as fact.

I don't want proof or observations there are arguments for both and I have read them. I want to know is why do you believe everyone else to be wrong?

Is it philosophical, do you have some need to take the path less traveled. Do you believe we all live in virtual world and everything we see is an illusion?

So again, Why, not how?

Simply stated, it is to set the record straight.  You previously stated "if the earth is round" and since it isn't the responsiblilty is put on us all to come to agreement on what is true.  Oh, and welcome!

So what is truth from a flat earthers point of view? Is it visual observation, "It looks flat" ,imperial measurements, "I measured it, its round", or theory based on both.
Neither can be trusted but there is no possible way to do all of the measurements and experiments yourself. Who is credible, who is not. Is there any data from the round earth system that is true?  If there is how can it be trusted?

Again, why say the earth is round when its not? To what end would this serve.  Is it just to say hay haha we know its flat but we want you to think its round.

Clearly you haven't lurked as much as you say you have. Think about how much money the leaders of NASA stand to make. The government gives them trillions of dollars.

So you believe that the reason for the global conspiracy for a round earth is money and power. How is that logistically possible?  It would cost more money to propagate the conspiracy than you would make from it?

NASA budget is billions not trillions.

Launching a space shuttle is not free, even a fake one. You have to pay for people, and material , also all of that information is public record.

If the records were faked you could, given enough time you could track down the money trail and find out if they were indeed skimming off the top. Witch should be done on a regular basis regardless of what your personal beliefs.

It's actually public knowledge that NASA is unable to account for the ridiculous sums of money regularly funneled into its insatiable maw.

Here's an interesting read for you.

Good article here about NASA. This waste is typical of government agencies.
Also see this, trillions missing from DOD. Check the date Rumsfeld admits this stuff.

Oh, right...NASA fumbles over half a trillion dollars, but never mind. After all, that was reported seven whole years ago! Forgive and forget, yeah?
Are you saying that NASA can't account for more money than they have ever received (about 472.5 billion from 1958-2011)?  ???

Profit.

NASA get to sell their "science", KFC gets to sell it's chicken coated in "secret" seasoning and the Glucksburgs continue to "control" us from their seats of power.

No one can count that much money. Even if you could count $10 a second it would still take you nearly 1,500 years to total it all up. NASA are sitting pretty.
