Rare Midnight Solar Eclipse Caught in Arctic

I'm not sure what it has to do with the shape of the earth, but it's still pretty cool.

Interesting.  If I was rich and had nothing to do, I'd travel to these places just to watch things like that.

i hate to hijack this thread but for people who have been following what ive been posting this would makeing the most sense but markjo has just provided us a rare picture of a moon just about ready to undergo a phase five moon oscillation. he must of taken this pic himself cause nasa doesnt want us to know and shit.

Hi. New here. Just wanted to thank you for the pretty picture. The solar eclipse I saw myself (New England, late 80s or maybe early 90s?) was one of the most weird-ass things I've ever seen in my life. All of the shadows of everything were, well, eclipse-shaped. The leaves were all arced... I can't even describe it. It was just really freaky. I agree with 29silhouette: if I were rich, I'd be chasing solar eclipses all over the earth for fun, too!

That too.  After that...Mars.  I'd have an air tank custom built for my quad so i could take it too and ride the snot out of those dunes.
