Radio Documentary
« on: April 12, 2011, 07:10:20 AM »
Hi,

My name is James Butcher and I am a student at Chester University, currently studying Radio Production. My most recent project is about the various beliefs of people who believe the world is flat. I need a phone interview regarding this and was hoping someone on this forum would be able to provide this.
The interview would only take fifteen minutes or so and it can be anonymous if you wish.

Thank you,
James

When do you want to do the interview?
How dare you have the audacity to demand my deposition. I've never even heard of you.

If I were to do the interview, I would like to have the opportunity to express concern at the damage that is being done to the Flat Earth Society by certain elements on the forum. It's a serious concern, since it is gradually transforming the Society from a legitimate group that promotes the scientific truth of the Flat Earth into a parody group, similar to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

That would be fine. My university is closed for the next week or so for Easter so would doing the interview around the 27th April be ok? Where abouts do you live as I need to work out a time to do the interview as the time zones are different.
Thanks
James

Hi James. I have to say that I don't think Horatio would be a good representative of the society. I think if you consult other prominent FE'ers, you'll find they agree, and I think you'll get a better idea of his actual beliefs by viewing his post history. In short, he is not actually a FE'er.

I myself would be happy to do the interview, and I live in Ireland so timezones wouldn't be a problem. Incidentally, I also run our Twitter feed and I do a lot of the work on our Facebook page, in addition to administering the forum and being a long-term member (5 years as of this Friday actually). I can also think of several others who would be willing to do the interview and who would be better representatives than Horatio.

Oh come on, Horatio is leading the FE Special Ed Department. He should get a say in things that way we can teach him that he can be like people too.

actually this post has made more sence than anything else here in along time. this forum is a joke and you should feel privilaged that anybody would take 5 mins to even consider making a report about it after some of the posts round here by actual official mambers
