Anyone interested?  Figured I'd carry this over from the minecraft thread. 

I could set up a home server, but it'd be a bitch.  If anyone is able to set one up, that'd be great.

My reasoning?
I have $300.00 that has to last me until April 15th which includes food, laundry, and gas money.
Then I get paid and 3/4 of that get's put into bills while the last 1/4 is going to be transferred into Kronor when I get to Norway.  The exchange rate is shit so I'll likely need at least $200.00.

I'd prefer Beta.  If you don't have $20 lying around... sorry  :'(

I got it set up yesterday, too.  But I started dicking around with TNT, stuff like that, because I can spawn whatever I want.  So as soon as I figure out how to reset the server, I'll put up the IP in this thread.

What do you guys want it to be like?  I can put in a bedrock/obsidian base just to start off, if you want.   Or we can just develop a randomly generated map from scratch.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I think I'll just ask you guys to PM me for the IP, so I don't have to broadcast it.  I'll still post again when it's ready, though.

Not only will it take time to set up but he'll have to broadcast the name, which would be the same as stating the IP address for anyone who cared. Kinda defeats the purpose of not wanting to broadcast.

An IP address isn't very useful to anyone with malicious intent unless you happen to be running a poorly secured network service with root privileges. It's useful if I want to join the minecraft server without being invited and grief. That's the whole point of not broadcasting it. As far as I know minecraft has a ban function but not a "let only friends in" function.

Alright, server's working.  I just need to fix some stuff I screwed up, I couldn't figure out how to reset it (too lazy anyway).  It'll be up tonight/tomorrow.

I thoroughly enjoy having to open up my PMs every time I want to connect to a server. It's why I've disabled DNS lookups and just PM all the IP addresses of websites I visit to myself.
