It's common enough.  It means the server is having trouble loading a chunk.

Those chunk errors are cool at first, but they happen all too often. They can be useful for spotting sweet orez though.

The cons of hosting a home server outweigh the benefits of getting a dedicated server and having to pay for it.

Yeah, poorly worded.  As far as I'm concerned, saving a few bucks (among other things) is worth the cons of a home server.

My 64 Meter Radius Circle that's half finished.
I'm not sure if it's going to be a giant ying-yang symbol or if it's going to be Kami's lookout from DBZ.

dear god, that must've taken ages to do without a mod. 

And it's creating quite a creeper problem below where the sunlight gets blocked... been blown up at least 3 times by creepers around there.

You should see the problem with mobs spawning on top of it.

I'm so wiring a crapton of TNT in a perimeter around my fortress to a single lever inside.

Server'll be down for a bit while I configure the server on linux. Lots of booting, etc. at the moment.

How inconvenient! I was just about to join the server for profit and lulz yesterday, and it turned out that it was down.

Nah, I'm using Ubuntu 11.04.  Haven't necessarily given up, but if I don't pace myself I'll blow my brains out.
