Info on earlier religions

I am doing a paper for school, having to do with religions throughout time.
I would like to learn about earlier religions, what gods they worshiped, the power(s) of the gods, etc.

A pretty good source for the various stories, myths and legends of ancient gods is www.godchecker.com

African tribal religions also give us a good proxy for the sort of worship we could have expected from our ancestors so it might be worth researching a few of them

If your school gives you access to proquest use that.

If not go to google scholor and search for peer-reviewed articles on early religions or paganism or whatever floats your boat.

these will give you referenceable material.
