Do you wear a watch?
« on: March 28, 2011, 08:55:23 PM »
I just started wearing one again and I was wondering if anyone else wore one. They seem to be going out of style.

Yes, since I don't like using my mobile as a pocket watch.
How dare you have the audacity to demand my deposition. I've never even heard of you.

Essentially, I only use it as a fashion accessory as my phone is more than adequate and I use it often. However, I don't wear it at work, and won't wear it if I won't be removing my coat (as in no one will see it).

I haven't worn a watch for several years.  I don't have my cell phone on very often either.  I figure that there are plenty of other time keeping devices available where I don't really worry about it too much any more.

That is truth, but the wristwatch or pocketwatch as a superfluous, single-function device that is now outclassed by children's toys does possess a sense of poetic irony in today's information society.

I wore watches when I was younger, gave up on them after losing so many.  I find asking someone else, finding a clock, or using my cell phone is fine.

As jewelry, yes. Only when I'm going out and feel like looking nice really. I have it set to a different time zone that someone important to me lives in so it serves some purpose.

I don't wear one, I hate wearing them. But when I don't have my phone with me I wish I did wear a watch cos I can't bear to not know what the time is.

I do not wear a watch, as FET dictates that you can know the approximate time by the sun's position in the sky.

I used to wear watches all the time but stopped when I was about 15 now I feel naked without one. Only leather straps, though, can't be arsed with metal ones.

I wear leather. I can't wear the rubber bands. They'll irritate my skin and create a rash.

Its not the fact over the waterproofness, its getting ametal strap dry. Generall stays wet.

Too heavy, clonk when you rest your wrist on any hard surface, too cold when you first put them on, too easy to catch your skin in whatever needlessly complicated catch they decide to use.

No, leather with a simple buckle all the way. If it doesn't quite fit you can just cut a hole precisely where you need it rather than taking links out and wishing you could take out half a link.
