Well actually my sunglasses are by Cartier and they cost 3000 dollars because its a solid gold frame. So yes it does cost more them some housing. You can buy a trailer for 800 dollars and live in it all your life.

We are discussing women here, not me. So please stop making personal insults, next time I will report this as harassment.
i thought you stated you were ghetto?

When did I say I was ghetto? Does rap music automatically qualifies you to be ghetto? Ridiculous. And even if I was ghetto, hood stars are some of the wealthiest mother fuckers on earth. Look at LIL Wayne he got like 10 Bentleys. Ghetto is an attitude it has nothing to do with being poor or rich.

Well Personally I don't like LIL Wayne's music but he is a hard working dude at what he does and I aint hating on his success. As far as his credentials go, he did come from the ghetto, Magnolia projects to be exact, one of the toughest hoods in New Orleans.

Maybe he should respect his daughter's decision to make her own choices with her life and body? By all means  he should be able to talk to his daughter, explain how he feels but ultimately the decision is with her, not him.

What age are you talking about here?

Age of consent and over

Below 16 (here in UK), he can decide to dictate how his daughter dresses but he should be aware that it is only serving to create the problem he hopes to solve, that is, he is a part of the problem which sees a young girl being 'sexualised'

Women should be put on a pedestal and treated with the utmost respect.  There may be a reason you dont have a girlfriend.  You think of them as a vagina/boob life support system.

While I agree with your overall sentiments, we put ming vases and trophies on pedestals, we should treat women with respect by treating them as fellow and equal human beings. If all men did that it wouldn't matter if women dressed meekly, like prostitutes or in nothing at all.

I disagree, slightly. I expect men to dress in a way that is not offensive to me(Such as wearing a KKK uniform might be, for example), so a woman in a gender neutral society should be expected not to walk around naked. Of course, she should be able to do so safely, but she should also expect the same public ridicule and insults that a man should.

Yes, I agree. But still, wouldn't you laugh your ass off if one of your workmates showed up at work stark naked? I expect men to dress, period. The same is true with women.

Why should people dress so as not to offend you? A devout Muslim might be offended immensley if a woman doesn't cover her hair, should a woman therefore cover in Islamic dress to avoid his offense? Alternately, many people in western societies are offended by Burqas and Niqabs, so should she therefore refrain from wearing one even if it's what she feels comfortable wearing? I know people who are offended at the idea of a woman in a police uniform, I get offended by people wearing too-short tee-shirts which show 'overhangs' etc etc.

Ultimately you shouldn't 'expect' anyone else to dress as to avoid offending your sensibilities.

Alright, forget I said anything, but know that even in a society where gender has no bearing on what you are expected to do, there are still social norms for dressing appropriately. Showing up in shorts and a t-shirt at a fancy dinner party will still be inappropriate, as will being naked in public. This has little to do with being a woman.

Notice that I said woman, not girl. In the case of a majority of women in western society, their fathers have little say in their clothing choice.

This is entirely different to walking on the streets in general, in the same way that many organisations have a uniform or dress code, temples will make you take your shoes off, I wouldn't let somebody into my flat if they were dressed in muddy boots and clothes, that's entirely different from dressing in public.

This has no bearing on whether it is approriate for somebody to ban girls from dressing in a way which they perceive to be 'overly sexual' or 'slutty' My point was that it is society at large which projects sexuality onto children and if we respected girls and women properly we'd realise that it is our problem with how we perceive women rather than their problem for choosing to dress as they do.

Its not what you make someone wear thats important here.  Its instilling the self confidence and morals in a child that when she grows older she doesnt feel she has to dress that way to get peoples attention.  If you raise a child right she wont want to wear that shit later as she gets older.   Ive got one now thats coming of age, and so far so good.  Only time will tell i guess.

I broadly agree with what your aims are, especially in regards to self-confidence.
If I had a daughter, my aim would be to teach that she didn't need to dress as anybody forces her to dress, she should be comfortable in how she dresses  and she is more than the clothes she dresses in.

If she felt more at home in a miniskirt than a pair of jeans, fine, if she felt more comfortable as a bull-dyke then again, great for her, I would only have a problem if she felt that she had to dress like that or it's what people expected her to dress.

You might be offended by KKK but wearing political or even unfavorable slogans is protected by a first amendment. Some people might be offended by Malcolm X, does it mean we regulate how people dress and turn our nation into a dictatorship?

So if someone is offended by Disney should they stop making t shirts with Mickey Mouse? (just an example) People are offended by many things, we can't accommodate people's issues. If someone is offended by KKK shirt for example, simply don't buy it, but don't violate the rights of others to express themselves. If we start banning certain clothes or certain logos, we will create a chain reaction of censorship, resulting in everyone wearing plain white t shirts.
