Obviously when I call "Both Sides Now" one of the most lyrically beautiful songs of all time, I'm not really making a comment about the original arrangement of those lyrics.  In fact I would never argue that there have been versions that were better than Mitchell's original.  Carly Rae Jepsen's abortion does not qualify.
