Congratulations. What is an EMT?

I believe it's Emergency Medical Technician, but I'm not so sure on the T. They are basically the people that come in the ambulance and do work on the spot if needed before you get to the actual hospital.

Correct on the T, and a fair generalization.

You have no idea? You may have been congratulating this person for becoming a donkey rapist. That's fantastic.

As for EMT, a quick Google search yields this...

I know a few paramedics/EMTs. They seemed well-adjusted enough, but I don't think I'd enjoy the hours and such that they work for the money they get.

It depends on where and how long you work. At my job now, as an EMT I will start at $15/hr. In a year or so, I can be bumped to $17/hr. Maybe more.

At a hospital that provides BLS service, an EMT can make between $17-$23/hr.

Either way it's at least a livable salary. And the hours don't matter if you enjoy it. Otherwise it will burn you out. Many people who don't do it for enjoyment usually don't recertify.

Perhaps if you're living in a homeless shelter.

I like that your badge has the right symbol on it. So many US medical services use Hermes' staff instead of the Rod of Asclepius

Yeah, same here. I'm particular about details like that as well, it would bother me if it wasn't right.

Hope you enjoy your new title. Personally, I don't approve of people bleeding on me.

Not every call is like that. But I do enjoy the pay bump.
