Tonight James and I have had a convergence of minds. Our synchronized thoughts and connection were far too vivid to be mere coincidence. By what means do such events happen?

This is a common occurrence, and usually is accomplished by one of these. Or perhaps you are in a dream currently and James is one of your projections.

I don't think it is a new concept with people. But I'm interested in the theories others have on how such convergences work! Also, I'm not really familiar with how others interpret and explain instances of telepathy.

Hardly telepathy. When similarly minded people are having a conversation they are both subject to similar stimulii, and often this will exhibit an identical response from them. This is very apparent in any 2 people who spend a lot of time together.
