Thousands!   Which, of course, there are (so many that in many areas, companies are forced to "co-locate" on the same tower by local ordinances).

I see. So the system runs off of the cell phone towers? And people who use GPS in the open ocean? How do they get it? Are they relying on stratelites? And how then does one sometimes get no cell phone coverage when one still gets GPS signals?

The problem with all the conspiracy motivations that have been offered up is that they're all circular. You can say the motivation is money, but no one was making any money prior to the conspiracy existing. The conspiracy needs to be in place first for someone to then exploit it and make money out of it. The fact that people don't know the earth is flat isn't (in and of itself) lucrative. The idea that someone in Ancient Greece decided to start a conspiracy that would be incredibly complex and expensive to run - on the impetus that when satellites and air travel become big business in two thousand odd years his ancestors would make a ton of money - is problematic at best.

Centrally - there's no real ideology behind the conspiracy. No one's given or shown me a deeper reason for why anyone would devote their lives to it. When the first conspirators discovered that, much to everyone's ignorance, that the earth really was flat, what was it about this truth that drove them to such incredible lengths so as to deceive the entire world for thousands of years to come? Nothing even approaching this scale has ever been achieved without it have some real deeper meaning to a lot of people, and so far, no one's given me even a theoretical example of what this might be.

The ancient Greeks didn't start the conspiracy, they were simply wrong. The conspiracy later build further on that story, being helped by the fact that great part of the earth was already misinformed. And as none here is part of the conspiracy (I hope there aren't any secret agents who have an account here) we can only guess at the motivations or how long they think they can keep it a secret. I myself think that within 5 years something will change and the real shape of the earth will be revealed. Who knows, maybe the things happening in Africa and the middle east now are the first signs of a very big event.

Well, that doesn't answer his question at all about when the conspiracy came online and why they did that rather than just telling everyone that the Earth was round (since this presumably happened well before there was big money). Your last claim about 5 years is interesting. I'm curious if you would be willing to make a bet over that.

Exactly, just like every other question, they dodge them by giving some sideways fact that hardly had anything to do with the original point and is also misinformed.

It's because anything that proves them wrong is a part of the conspiracy, obviously! How else do you think they're managing to actually keep this going? I'm sure 90% of these people are trolling also, just going along with this to annoy the rest of us. There are probably about 4 actual believers on this forum.

7/8 have nothing to do with a conspiracy. How about not posting till you've lurked some more?

7/8 didn't have to do with the conspiracy? GPS, NASA and satellites are all frequently listed as part of the conspiracy here. Some of the others are also sometimes included. Maybe instead of telling this user to lurk more you should lurk more yourself?

Beorn you are correct that Africa and Middle East are signs of big events to come. The conspiracy is agitating those areas in order to drive up the oil price. By the end of 2012 oil will be $150.00 - $200.00 price range, possibly sooner This will wreak havoc upon the earth. Not just Africa & Middle East.

I saw your later posts and you seem naive to think 7/8 are not conspiracy related, at least 4 of them are.
P.S. the secret agents see all this stuff.

Have you invested in oil? If you believe this, you should do so. In any event, do you want to make a bet about this? I'm pretty sure the price won't hit $150 in that time period, and would be willing to bet on that.

so the uprising of the people in the middle east is now a conspiracy too. ok. more like the people revolting against the opressors.
the oil is just the knock on effect. i doubt its anything more than that. but because it brings proffit to somebody it must be a conspiracy?
