It's great to see you, Brother bullhorn!

It is more than fabulous to hear the power of your travels and powers of University are now converging.

Let us say that the study will soon benefit from your fine efforts!

Ten pages of the study and interruption at University. We'll take patience pills and you be most careful.

The Colours That We have not Seen

Good evening,

Good evening,

It has been sometime since I have been speaking and reading.

I have been illuminated, by the illustrious sky colors. Viewing these colours has given me a wonder as to the colours that we cannot see.

I look to the ocean animal, the mantis shrimp. The mantis shrimp is able to see over 10 different colors. I’m not talking about shades of a colour but 10 different colours and new spectrum of light that we as man cannot see,

Trying to comprehend what these colours look like has driven me silent for over six months I have not been able to do any other activity in my life due to this ponderous situation.

Over the last six months, I have been on two expeditions to eastern Africa and I have dove in the water with a mantis shrimp and observed how it lives.

I have been face-to-face with the shrimp on over six different occasions. My only goal has been to appreciate the colours that it sees from a perspective , looking into its eyes  I have not yet seen the colors.

I am not growing younger, but growing older and trying to see these colors in different ways. I have not yet done

One can only wonder what the colours of the ultraviolet the colours of the x-ray and the intricate shades in between even the colours of the infrared or not apparent to us what beautiful art what beautiful shades are we missing

It is very sad that man is a limited in a spectrum that is dominated by blue and red.

Blue has always been. The colour of calm and peace, red , the colour of war. What are we missing in the other colors?

I cannot even dream in other colors. Other colors are lost to memory ,

I still have several decades of ponderous exploration in my life. My next goal will be trying to communicate with a mantid shrimp.

To ask it what does it see.

I will continue with his study at a later date

Bullhorn, old friend, I am glad to see you still about!

Your query reminds me of Nagel's work on consciousness. What is it like to be a Mantis Shrimp? We can at best imagine what human consciousness would experience as a Mantis Shrimp. We may be no closer to experiencing what consciousness is to the shrimp.

Nevertheless, it is worthy of contemplation, and I pray he answers you!
"Never think you can turn over any old falsehood without a terrible squirming of the horrid little population that dwells under it." -O.W. Holmes "Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne.."

Brother bullhorn, the meeting of minds with mantis shrimp is an important advancement of the study. Your efforts are appreciated many times over, “But for love of cause, you are needed” (gotham).

Your close contact with the amazing mantis shrimp is most impressive. It is fortunate for us, most importantly you, that your gentle approach is advancing the mission in ways you can recall without incident. The incident I refer to is the response the mantis shrimp can employ, when led down the wrong path instead of the path acceptable for the mantis shrimp, as you are experiencing with consideration shown towards them.

“Every step of life shows much caution is required” (Goethe). A boxer will throw a punch at speeds of 55 kph. The mantis shrimp is capable of throwing punches at speeds of 260 kph. When approached by individuals with intentions of harm, the mantis shrimp can deliver retribution with devastating speed and impact to the recipient, “The scars of others should teach us caution” (St Jerome).

You have learned so much in your travels, including how to approach and communicate with the mantis shrimp in masterful ways that will glean data so important to the study.

Best luck, stay safe.
