Then what is the significance of the 150 foot ice shelves in FET?

The Antarctic coast holds in the oceans, and represents the boundaries of our known world.

I'm sorry, but how is ice (a substance that floats) supposed to hold in the oceans?

I didn't say that ice holds in the oceans. I said that the Antarctic coast holds in the oceans.

How is it that you can quote the length of Antarctic mountain ranges if the Antarctic Coast represents the boundaries of our known world. That is, how do you know about what is unknown?

The Antarctic mountain ranges referenced in the Wiki are the known mountain ranges near the coast.

Really? I challenge you to provide evidence that mountain ranges are in their entirety near the coast.

So you admit then that you know of things beyond the boundaries of our known world. Good to know. It's like magic then. Typical FE science.

I've never said or implied that what exists beyond the boundaries of the Antarctic coast are unknowable.

The mountain ranges can been seen from the coast of Antarcitca. This is how we know that they are there.

Nice attempt to deflect. You said that the mountains were unknown (beyond the boundaries of the known world). Then suddenly you know about their existence and their length.

Please show us your evidence of these mountains as seen from inside the known world. Remember that they extend for thousands of miles. Surely you wouldn't just make up a story about these mountains, like you did when you said you saw people playing Frisbee across Monterey Bay, right?

No less significance than they do in RET. They're a significant geographical feature.

But to think that they hold in water is ridiculous, considering they're ice shelves, i.e. buoyant.

It's you RE'ers who are putting significance on the Ice Wall. You guys are the ones who keep bringing it up, demanding proof of its existence.

I've always said that the Ice Wall is simply a series of glaciers which are attached to the Antarctic coast. There are similar shelves of ice in the Arctic circle.

There is geographical significance to a wall of ice which surrounds the oceans and bars entry into Antarctica, but it is not a monumental significance to the workings of the model. I've never said that it was.

Then why is this in your wiki?

Quote from: http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Atmolayer
Ice Wall Containment

The atmolayer must be contained by a barrier on finite Earth models of the theory to prevent the various gasses from flowing out into space. One model (now widely discredited) describes that the Ice Wall is tall enough to hold in the atmolayer, like the edges of a bowl.

But the fact that there are hundreds of researchers currently stationed at various Antarctic research stations suggests that the 150 foot high ice shelves are not any better at barring entry to Antarctica than they are at holding in the oceans.

Yes, because it would definitely make sense to have this forum shut down in a suspicious manner.

if any member of a space agency, if any scientist or associate, or former member of a government, has never broken the silence that the conspiracy is forcing them to keep, how are we, regular guys, gonna make a difference if this site was close and we forced to shut up? Who would realise? Who would care?
I'm sorry but while this site exists, the conspiracy cant.

Who here claims that all or indeed any of the people you mentioned are part of the Conspiracy? I certainly don't think politicians or scientists are in on the Conspiracy. They are just ignorant and wrong (respectively).

Sarah Palin ran as the Republican nominee for Vice President of the United States in 2008. Given that, I don't think the average politician would be any harder to con than the average citizen.

I don't think this site would be mysteriously removed if the conspiracy did exist.

Not only would that lend credence to those that believe it does, but it also gives most level headed people that think it to be complete bullshit a swift kick in the balls. Following from that, another reason this site wouldn't be deleted rests on the simple fact that very few would believe something so ludicrous.

Not to backseat mod like a dick but we're kinda getting off topic aren't we?

Can an FEer please give the "official" consesnsus {if their is one) on who is behind this conspiracy and why it's worth the cost? Maybe I'm missing something that's been posted about a lot, but it's certainly not been given a real answer in this thread or my thread.

There is no 'official' answer. I believe the Conspiracy is a supra-governmental organisation which deceives people concerning the shape of the Earth for their own gain. Beyond that, I cannot say - it wouldn't be much of a conspiracy if I could.

their own gain

is a pretty good (and obvious) reason.

From what? The globe industry? I would like some legitimation answers.
It costs significantly less to fake a space program than it does to maintain a real one. NASA and the other "agencies" pocket the substantial difference.

This conspiracy is supposedly hundreds of years old, how could they anticipate a need to fake a space program?
