Deliverance
« on: October 29, 2010, 01:42:15 AM »
I just watched it. The infamous hillbilly rape scene wasn't as bad as I had imagined, although the movie was filmed in the 70's, so obviously the shock value would have been higher back then. All in all, it was sort of a realistic thriller story. Something like this could have happened for real in my opinion, which lends to the feeling of realism. I also really like the music, even though it's rather sparse. Have you seen it? What did you think of it?

The only bit I've seen is the 'dueling banjo' scene

I watched it a long time ago, and read the book a long time ago.  Both were really quite good.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

That movie made me cringe.  I can't say I was a fan.  While it was an interesting and terribly disturbing story, it was difficult for me to follow.  I didn't much care for how long it took for each scene to get to the point.  There wasn't much for character development either.

I didn't much care for the music either.
You think that a photograph is indisputable evidence?  Would you like me to show you a photograph of Barack Obama having sex with a gorilla?

It's called inflation. Rape was worth a lot more back then.

And here I thought the correct term was desensitization.
