Excited to be here...
« on: June 16, 2011, 02:10:05 PM »
Hello, new member here, and looking forward to conversations about a flat earth,  as strange as that sounds to me...

I think I originally came to this forum a few years ago, and thought it was an interesting idea, but that was about it.  Something attracted me today again to the subject of FE, and a light bulb sort of went on in my head, and now I can't look back...

I've had a feeling that this world we live in isn't quite what it seems for many years now, and I research answers to my questions in cycles, it seems... does the concept of a flat earth sound ridiculous to me?  Sure, but why?  Because of constant conditioning, obviously...

But I keep asking myself, 'what do I really know'?  How do I 'know' that the earth is a globe?  Well, because I've seen it in countless pictures, videos, books stating the fact, and of course everyone believing so.  But that does not make it so.  Experience is the best teacher, and my experience has told me that the world is flat.  So what do I believe?  My own experience (and intuition), or mainstream 'proof'?

Of course, I could be wrong, but I've had the truth of things obscured way too many times before, and I'm tired of it.  I'm completely open to the idea of a flat earth now, and without even reading the books on it yet (and delving into the scientific aspects), something just feels right about this theory and I can't explain why...

What also made my decision to come here easy was that many of you FE advocates seem to be very intelligent and level-headed... look forward to talking with you all!

If you believe your own experience more than mainstream proof then your knowledge of the world is so limited and flawed that you are incapable of debating properly here.

For example: Have you ever seen a hydrogen atom?  Most likely not so thus, you can't say it exists.
Have you ever seen Australia?  Most likely not so thus it can't exist.

Basically if you rely on experience then you need to experience a lifetime before you can say if life even exists.
You have been ignored for common interest of mankind.

I am a terrible person and I am a typical Blowhard Liberal for being wrong about Bom.

Welcome to TFES, a beacon of truth in an endless desert of ignorance. As you can see, we entertain the incoherent ramblings of countless globularists for the sake of demonstrating the palpable absurdity of round Earth belief:

Basically if you rely on experience then you need to experience a lifetime before you can say if life even exists.

Wut?

Jeez, lay off on the non sequiturs.
"I want truth for truth's sake, not for the applaud or approval of men. I would not reject truth because it is unpopular, nor accept error because it is popular. I should rather be right and stand alone than run with the multitude and be wrong." - C.S. DeFord

I see your non sequitur, and I raise you one ad hominem.
Why justify an illegitimate attack with a legitimate response?

She doesn't need you anymore, she has a baby now.
I don't know what you're implying, but you're probably wrong.
