Nice dodge to the Pongo's challenge btw.

Given that you can't design a decent experiment or handle valid criticism, I doubt there's anything you could learn from me anyways.

You've had hundreds of threads to try and point out something wrong. You haven't.
This thread is also not the place for you to fail in that respect again.
So Mr. FallacyTower, please stop dodging Pongo's challenge and stay on topic for once.

Soooooo, any of you Fe kids got a real map yet that i can look at? Coordinate system? Star map ect?

Nothing?

Will it help if I say the magic word, "please"?

Perhaps Cast magic Map will work?

If you don't have enough experience points to use that spell, may you can use MS Paint!

I remind you that name calling is inappropriate to the upper fora.

I most certainly have stayed on topic. I assailed Pongo's challenge and his measuring technique. You've even agreed that it's ridiculous. Tell me how Pongo's challenge to measure a hydrogen atom as 1mm across has not been answered. His technique, as I've reminded you, relies on the image of the object, not the object itself. He also ignore incorrectly the distances to the object and to the measuring device (perhaps a meterstick?) used

Nope, I can measure anything to be 1mm across.. That include you.

That's certainly debatable.  I challenge you to measure a hydrogen atom at 1mm across.
Easy. http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/35034. Adjust your distance from the image to obtain whatever measurement you'd like.
I believe he wants a measurement of a true hydrogen atom. Not a picture or model.
Just as the 1mm measurement of M31 was of the actual galaxy, not a picture or model.
False. His measurement of M31 was of the image formed on his retina, if we are to believe him, that is. He did not measure M31 directly. If he wants to go to a facility with an electron microscope of the calibre of the article's, I'm sure he can repeat his fallicious measurement even more directly.
Strawtower, quite a shameful response. Using your argument, we can't ever truly measure an object now can we.
Can you? How can you give us a objects length from a distance of 1 meter and then 5 meter and then 100 meter? Or do you claim that the objects length changes according to the distance?

That's actually a good point.. Pongo partake in measuring objects via pictures? :O.. surely the observable image was 1mm but not the actual object it pertains to. But again with dishonest discourse we can cast measure anything at 1 mm. It's just a matter of zooming in or out :) this include Pongos head :P

Just as the 1mm measurement of M31 was of the actual galaxy, not a picture or model.
How do you measure something 3100 miles away with a ruler?  ???

By holding it up and see how many ticks long the galaxy is. We can see that some galaxies are only a matter of centimeters long by empirical evidence.

No.  That's how you measure how big the galaxy appears.  I want to know how big it actually is.

Do tell us where you hold the ticks in relationship to the galaxy and your sighting eye. Does it make a difference if you hold the ticks 1 cm away for your sighting eye as opposed to 1 m away? 1 km away? Why would one answer better than the other?

Maybe you should form an international committee for the standardization of inane measurements!

I suggest you hold the ruler as close to your eye as possible so you may read the ticks as accurately as possible, insuring a correct measurement.

EG, are you serious?

That's like measuring you from 20m away and claiming by empirical evidence that you're 2cm tall.

That's not how measuring works.

Of course given that you claim that Andromeda Galaxy is just 1mm wide, we all realize your lack of credibility.

Do you deny that the Andromeda Galaxy was measured at 1mm across?  Have you conducted any measurements of your own or are you simply criticizing the real-life field work of others from the safety of your computer desk?  Quit derailing troll.
yes the andromeda galaxy is thousands of lightyears across.
