How about a reenactment of the Wallace-Hampton version of the Bedford Levels Experiment, complete with death threats and lawsuits?

I would love something like this, ignoring the death threats and lawsuits aspect.

Then how about with major media coverage?  Almost as dangerous.

The Wallace-Carpenter version of the experiment is too complicated. In the Wallace-Carpenter version we would need to install a series of poles into the water, while making sure that they are all the same height, perfectly vertical, and that none of them are leaning to any degree.

Blount's version of the experiment is better to reproduce, and would dispel claims of inaccuracy.

Because it's hard to make straight poles these days.

All you need is a plumb bob and a measuring tape.  What's so complicated about that?  Or, better yet, mount the poles to flotation devices.

Blount's version of the experiment is better to reproduce, and would dispel claims of inaccuracy.

Nothing wrong with recreating as many experiments as possible.

He stole all his ideas from Aristarchus.
How dare you have the audacity to demand my deposition. I've never even heard of you.

Actually, I just had a good idea.  If any of you guys are musically inclined and read/play sheet music easily and have too much spare time, please email me (daniel@theflatearthsociety.org) for an exciting opportunity to do me (and the Society) a big favour for very little compensation!   An offer you can't refuse, surely!

Pounding poles into the muddy floor of a canal is bound to be of questionable accuracy.

What if the mud is too soft, and the pole leans after the experimenter walks away?

What if the pole is pounded too far into the mud and the experimenter pulls it up manually to the correct height, and the pole slowly sinks into the gap after the experimenter leaves?

Easily corrected. What are you so scared of? It's not like we're going to call you a liar again like when you said you could see people playing Frisbee across Monterey Bay.

What if the mud is too soft, and the pole leans after the experimenter walks away?

Then put it straight.

What if the pole is pounded too far into the mud and the experimenter pulls it up manually to the correct height, and the pole slowly sinks into the gap after the experimenter leaves?

Then don't pull it up manually.

We're talking about planting poles Tom, not putting a man on the fake moon. If Rowbotham could do it them I'm sure you can.

Then don't pound the poles into the mud.  Mount the poles to flotation devices (buoys, essentially) that have been uniformly balanced.

By the way, this really isn't the place to discuss the details of such an experiment.  However, if you want to discuss this further, we can start a thread in the appropriate forum.

I would say there is something wrong with recreating an experiment if it is inherently flawed.

Since the anniversary date has past, I assume that nothing happened. Doesn't this tell us a lot about the believers here?

A plethora of documents were released proving the NASA conspiracy. NASA promtly removed the documents and had Daniel killed, stuffed into a hold-all and dumped in a bath. This is furthere evidence of the conspirac.y

I don't get it; what's your point?  Unless I misunderstand the meaning of the date in the parentheses, that was just posted yesterday and it looks like something along the lines of what was discussed in this thread was done.

Yeah, Daniel posted it on Facebook as well. When I saw it I was going to do a topic in here, but I thought I'd wait and see if Daniel was going to do one first. Probably put one up in a bit.
