Of course they know that will only maybe work if it was all on one side of the planet.  But they are geting people from around the world.

What if in this process the flat earth gets offbalanced and flips over.  We could all fall out into space!  Oh no!

last I heard, the earth's orbit wobbled anyway, making us due for massive climate changes no matter who jumps at once.

talk about crazy theories, where's the real evidence of global warming?

We should create an anti-jump movement in the countries that don't lie on the timezones. When the day for the jump comes, all those people living outside the zones should jump, causing an opposite force preventing the orbit of the Earth changing.
never thought there could be more idiotic people than creationists, but after visiting this site, my belief is proven wrong.

wow, nobody knows any physics here, newtons third law of motion states

everyone can jump and move the earth, but then gravity will pull them back to the earth negating the effect, so the most that could happen is an earthquake, the net force is zero so the earth as a whole does not move

.................well yeah

I have stumbled upon this site from another internet discussion group about teaching alternative theories (FSMism).

Anyway, regarding an earlier point, I have heard that the distance we would actually move the earth is about the length of a neutron. As well, as stated above, the earth will just move back.

I personally wonder what is going to happen on that day though.

well they're aiming for 600 million people, or 60,000,000,000 KG at most
and the earth weighs in at just under 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 KG so basically the earth will move (before the effect is negated by gravity pulling people back) 1/100,000,000,000,000 times the height that people jump, so one hundred thousandth of a nanometer at best.

The only way this can work is if everyone stood on each other’s shoulders then jumped up at the same time and landed back down on the same spot. Then all the energy would be focus on one point.
The only problem with doing this on Our Flat Earth is it might fold up like them magic fish you put in the palm of your hand to tell your future. Not a good idea.

Getting everybody in the world to jump at the same time.

Okay, folks, let's look at this. Suppose everybody on the planet weighed 100kg (which is an overestimate, 70kg is more like it, probably less). Suppose that there were ten billion people (another overestimate - there are about 6.4 billion at the time of writing). Suppose that they all jumped ten metres in the air (a huge overestimate, fifty centimetres is more likely and probably much less). Suppose they were all at the exact same point on Earth (which they won't be, thus mitigating the effects of the jump). And lastly, suppose that they all jumped at precisely the same instant, which of course they will not, seeing as the time difference between the fastest watch and the slowest will likely be over five minutes.

Altogether that's a mass of one billion tonnes of humanity jumping ten metres in the air.

The Earth has a mass of... let's be nice and round it WAY down to 1021 tonnes. That's a trillion times heavier than all of humanity. Which means the distance the Earth moves when everybody jumps will be one trillionth of the distance that all the people jumped: that is to say, 10-11 metres, or about half the radius of a hydrogen atom.

It gets better. Even assuming the Earth did move by some significant distance when everybody jumped, just think about it: it'd move right back again! You jump up, the Earth goes down: you fall down, the Earth comes up to meet you. Jumping up and down to try to move the Earth is like mounting a fan on a sailboat, pointing the fan at the sail, and expecting the boat to move forwards. It just doesn't work!

From How to move the Earth, authored by Sam Hughes, also author of How to Destroy the Earth.
