Microsoft still does periodical updates for bugfixes. I think service packs are a great idea, Microsoft can be sure that everything that added works and they have the time to weed out problems as opposed to waiting for them to happen to the end user then fixing them.

If only Microsoft actually wanted to weed out all the problems in Windows, this might work.
And why wouldn't  they?  It's not like they charge for fixing bugs and adding new features like the free software system.

Also: windows puts out service packs to bundle updates together. Linux puts out a new version.

Actually, normally new versions of Linux are accompanied by patches to allow you to update quickly and easily.

I agree. In fact, I think we should all give a house key to our local police station, just in case they want to come in and search our property anytime they like. I mean, why should I care that they don't have a warrant? It's not like I'm doing anything illegal.

Just because something is named NSAkey doesn't mean it is for with the national security agency. I believe microsoft denies this has anything to do with the national security agency.

Regardless, one old and fixed problem with Windows hardly means anything in an OS of today anyway. I'm sure if I searched around I could find some other careless, fixed mistakes with Linux
