How does FE come to terms with the fact that in Air and Boat travel over great distances the most efficient route is calculated using the Great Circle Route?

FE can't explain this, and must invoke the Conspiracy and undocumented jet streams with varying directions at different altitudes to survive your challenge. (and I don't consider that really surviving, just FEers refusing to accept reality).

My favorite is the flight from 0,0 to 0,180, from the Bay of Gengal to near Baker Island. RE correctly finds that the shortest path is basically the same in any direction (but starting due south is probably the most damning.) FET says that the path length varies depending on initial direction and is shortest starting due north. Of course, many observations support RET's better prediction of path lengths, especially the summary statistics of many flights and their on-time arrivals between the southern most airports. If shipping relied on FET we'd be damned indeed with ships takes days longer than was really needed.

So you've killed FET with a single question. RIP FET

Keep it serious, Thork. You can troll, but don't be so open. We have standards

Thank you for taking the time to look at my question and add to the discussion Clock Tower.

Amazing how when solid RE evidence is provided the FE'r clan seems to not show up. C'est La Vie
