Slightly off-topic but I just saw a guy shooting up speed (I'm assuming it was amphetamine not heroin cos heroin isn't very popular here and he was walking around with fast, slightly jerky movements afterwards) right in his kitchen window in the building opposite me.
I think I ought to send him a note telling him to put up curtains...
Also thats really not the kind of thing I'd expect to see in my neighbourhood
Meh.
My neighborhood used to be just as bad. Crack house next door and all.
Guy who owned the house across the street (he rented the bottom half out) died of an Overdose in his kitchen.
Where are you from?
Mid-Hudson Valley in New York.
Newburgh is the worst part of the area but that's about 10 miles away. You may have heard of them as they've been asking for federal money to deal with their gang wars. Even had some high ranking government officials take a look around.

The thing is my neighbourhood isn't bad at all. Its an expensive part of the city, lots of families and the elderly. You definitely don't expect to see it.
I have a theory:
Drugs, murders, adultery, rebellious teens, and other such things that happen isn't increasing in frequency so much as it's being more widely known.
Also, drugs know no boundaries. Anyone can get into them for their pleasure.
