how is that post irrelevant, If the initial assumption of a working theory is wrong, then all of the other stuff is suspect.

It's irrelevant because Rowbotham never assumes a flat Earth.  It's pretty simple, really.

Yeah, but he assumed that he proved one, which he didn't

It's irrelevant because Rowbotham never assumes a flat Earth.  It's pretty simple, really.

Rowbotham assumed that his Bedford Levels experiment was sufficient to prove the earth flat beyond doubt.  Subsequent reenactments of the experiment have shown that it isn't.

And other reenactments of the experiments have shown that it is.  Given that everybody who's performed this experiment who has found the Earth to be round has arguably had an agenda (to prove to the world that Rowbotham was wrong and the Earth isn't flat), I don't see how the conflicting reenactments can even be taken seriously.  Let's remember that according to most FEers the Conspiracy has been afoot for a very long time!

Yeah, but he assumed that he proved one, which he didn't

Rowbotham was a true zetetic, and his book was a true masterpiece of zetetic literature, because Rowbotham assumed nothing in his observations.  It was all based on sound zetetic reasoning resting on very firm zetetic principles, beginning with his purely zetetic experiments which proved to him that the Earth is flat.
Where did you educate the biology, in toulet?

Except for the ones that didn't.

Given that everybody who's performed this experiment who has found the Earth to be round has arguably had an agenda (to prove to the world that Rowbotham was wrong and the Earth isn't flat), I don't see how the conflicting reenactments can even be taken seriously.

Are you suggesting that everyone who performed this experiment who has found the earth to be flat didn't have agenda (to prove Rowbotham right and the rest of the world wrong)?  Conflicting results in any experiment means that there is something wrong with the experiment and perhaps said experiment isn't as conclusive as one would like to think.

except he missed the part where the earth isn't flat. countless others have done similar experiments that counter his result. are we to believe that they were all forgery?

Rowbotham only assumes he can get lots of money and attention by saying deliberately provocatively dumb things.

The world has changed sinec then.

You are ignoring the glaring flaw that Rowbottom's claim that he could see a rowing boat in the distance conflicts directly with his claim that the magic perspective effect makes things look like they are sinking. He has one experiment that claims things don't seem to sink over the horizon, and another theory explaining why they do.
Gayer doesn't live in an atmosphere of vaporised mustard like you appear to, based on your latest photo.

Rowing boats are made of wood, which causes them to appear to sink more slowly than vessels made of other materials.

I see we're in the waning phase of the troll moon. At this time trolls posts are generally weak and unfunny. This is proof of the harmful effects of the moon.
