VDub Cult Classic 2010
« on: June 08, 2010, 06:30:41 PM »
This past weekend my girlfriend and I went to the VDub Cult Classic 2010 Show in PA, and I wanted to share some pictures from the event.

The first few pics are from the convoy cruise we drove with. First two shots were taken with my iPhone 3GS at an average speed of 70mph, the third is a shot of some of the cars in the convoy at one of the checkpoints.

The following pic is of the winning car in the MK4 class, owned by a very good friend of ours:

The following shot was taken after the whack-a-car event, each hit was $1. They collectively paid $160 to be able to flip the car, and all the money goes to a charity:

Here is a video of the early morning meetup of all the cars driving in the convoy:

Here is the car flip in action:

I agree. That said, I hope you had a blast, Hara. Car events do have their bright spots even for a car apathetic such as myself.

Car shows are awful things. Nothing is worse than that stupid ass North American Auto show... except the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Also, Hara... i hope you ate some good food. OM NOM NOM NOM

Volkswagens are shit.

While I agree in the general sense, there were a lot of well built cars that were pushing 400+ horsepower for being V6 motors. Impressive if you ask me.

Personally I'm an American Muscle guy. When I get the job with JCMC, I'm buying a Dodge Challanger SRT-8 and I'm gonna build it up.

All in all we had lots of fun. It was great that our friend won 1st place, and I got some great shots as well.

I actually like American muscle cars as well. I'm not a fan of cars as aesthetic objects overall, but I can't deny that a well-maintained Dodge Viper is a beautiful thing.

Uh, you know you'd probably have got more money for charity by selling the car, right?

If you left your house at least fucking once in your life you would know a whack-a-car event is present at alot of car shows. They don't use nice cars.  They use broken donated cars.

Leaving my house once is enough to teach me all about car shows? ???

Are those stretched tires?

A big truck engine, a heavy truck clutch, a gearbox that feels like it's seizing up and big fat rear tires to put the power to the ground.  They're like go-karts but with lots of power and a really high top speed.  Everyone can have a good time in a beast like that.
