I've been sharing banter with a German since the beginning of the tournament. Now it's just not fucking funny any more.

I wanted Germany to score more to punish the Argentinians for their uninspiring defense. For instance, Schweinsteiger had absolutely no difficulty running the ball into the Argentine penalty area and delivering it to Klose for a great finish. After witnessing Argentina's performance against Mexico, I expected this would happen.

I love how whenever your beloved team loses it's always because of cheating or a bad ref call. Ever think that maybe, just maybe, the opposing team won fair and square?

Well, I have to say Suarez's conduct was not very sportsmanlike. It would have been Ghana 2 : 1 Uruguay had he decided not to blocked the ball intentionally with his hands. Since he decided to do so, the ball failed to go into the net and Gyan was forced to take a penalty kick instead.

It was a professional foul and he was punished by getting a red card, giving away a penalty and getting banned from the next match. It was a tactical move which ANY player would have done in that situation.

Yes, in such a tight situation, any player would have done the same. My point is Suarez did not respect the rules of the game. We can say he was heroic by sacrificing himself for his team, but he still committed an act of dishonesty regardless. The punishments do not justify his act.

Not only that, the free kick that caused the handball was from a deliberate dive by the Ghana player. That free kick shouldn't even have existed.

Errr, he can't play in the Semifinals when his team greatly needs him.  I think that is a fitting punishment.

It is just if he receives punishments for violating the rules. However, the act itself is not just; his act was not considered valid by the officials, which is why he was punished. I believe there is a difference.

Paraguay definitely played much better than Spain. The Spanish team is always nervous and clumsy in the knock-out stages in almost every World Cup. I hope Spain will return to their original shape when playing against Germany in the upcoming semi-final match.

Talk about dishonesty in football, everyone is always trying to fish for punishments by deliberately diving and it's no better than saving the team by getting a red card.
