I actually feel bad for Webb.
He could have been a lot better but what an ugly game.

Yeah, I feel that for him it was a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. If anything he should have sent off more Dutch players, but quite honestly, at least three other Dutch players could have been sent off, de Jong and Van Bommel especially. However, to do so would have ruined the final - see 1990 for an example. At the end of the day, it's not his fault that the Dutch came out kicking players instead of the ball.

Webb is actually a great ref; the real issue is that referees in the previous games did not punish the Dutch for playing the way they did. They should have had a couple of players sent off against Brazil too.
"I want truth for truth's sake, not for the applaud or approval of men. I would not reject truth because it is unpopular, nor accept error because it is popular. I should rather be right and stand alone than run with the multitude and be wrong." - C.S. DeFord

Webb had no chance. He would have sent off De Jong if he'd seen it, other than that and the blatent corner he missed previous to the goal, he done ok.
He couldn't win really. If he had of sent 2 off in the first half, people would have complained he ruined the final. Overall he done alright considering all referees are wankers, its the rules.
I have developed a fancy to tickle giddsey and see if he giggles.

I thought Webb did the best he could. The Dutch planned to play as dirty as possible, hoping to intimidate the Spaniards and beat them into submission. That left Webb with no other choice but to be rigorous. Otherwise, we're talking broken bones here.

The Dutch have their merits, but I think the Spaniards overall are the better team for their dominance in midfield and ball possession. Even Dutch coach van Marwijk and Dutch legend Cruyff admitted Spain, despite losing their first game against Switzerland, played better than the Netherlands. After all, the Dutch resorted to anti-football just to throw down the Spanish rhythm, before the Spaniards finally picked themselves up again in extra time. The Dutch are well known for their beautiful football way back in the 1970s, but they knew football has changed and playing with style will not help them in the final match against Spain.

The Dutch will have another chance in 2014.

They simply need to change the rules for soccer.  From now on, it should be a taekwon-do fusion sport whereby kicking either the ball or your opponent is legal.

Obviously he was trying to kick the ball. Of course it's not like there are rules about how high you can kick when there are players close to you.

I blamo Alonso. He has got his guard up and clearly looking to strike. It was self defence.
Stop all this nonesense and bring on the lapdancers.
I understand Jack1704. It's a Brit thing.
