Germany played far better overall and I believe they would have won regardless even if the goal had been allowed, but either way this match shows how badly video replay referees need to be implemented in football.
Blanko, it already has been

Argentina played well against Mexico, but their defense was mediocre and they showed barely any teamwork at all. Messi rarely passed the ball to his teammates, and Tevez and Higuain were constantly looking for scoring opportunities without paying much attention to anything else. Although they are strikers, it is important for them to switch roles and adapt to every situation. If the Argentinians continue to play like this, they will have a hard time keeping up with the well-coordinated German team.

Fucking Ghana. Oh well, we can go home to air conditioned homes instead of mud huts so we win anyway.

This is true.

This.  Plus as much as I hate Lampard, and English soccer nancies in general, I did feel sorry for the bugger when the ref, goalie and everyone else cheated to deny him that goal.

Possibly one of the worst performances I can ever remember.

Im going to do what i did last time and just berate the team individually.

Dave James - Solid again, probably Englands best play in the 3 games he played in. And one more redeeming feature, he isnt Rob Green.

Ashley Cole - Woeful again. Best left back in the world? Put Stuart Pearce back in, at least there would be passion.

John Terry - Apparently played out of position as a left centre half instead of a right centre half. Are you honestly for real?

Matthew Upson - Unable to read the game. No pace. No positional sense. Granted he scored, but it was a free header into an empty net.

Glenn Johnson - Granted he was dragged all across the pitch by the other three defenders lack of ability. Still poor though.

James Milner - Tracked back well but didnt cross the ball enough. Did acredit himself well though.

Gareth Barry - Did ok, did nothing special but did turn up sometimes.

Frank Lampard - As i have said previously, quite simply as good as he was in Germany 4 years ago.

Steven Gerrard - Thrown out on the left to be as ineffective as most of the rest of the team. Drifted inside far too much and left the wing without protection.

Jermaine Defoe - Played well, nothing special. At least he scored though, which is more than can be said for the next bloke.

Wayne Rooney - Simply never turned up. No pride, no passion, no commitment.

Fabio Capello - Quite easily out of his depth. Not prepared to changed based on the game. He has a plan and will stick to it irrespective of the circumstances on the pitch. At 4-1 down you replace a proven goalscorer with Heskey. Heskey had an OK tournament but why continue to go like for like when you need to score 3 goals. Should have left Milner on and just tell him to cross the ball and then leave Defoe on and bring Crouch on for a big ball.

If most of these players were wearing their club shirts they would be killing themselves to get to the ball, but for some reason the 3 lions do not matter to them. Half of them cant even be bothered to sing the national anthem, you should be proud to represent your country.
Stop all this nonesense and bring on the lapdancers.
I understand Jack1704. It's a Brit thing.

On the one hand, it's Brazil vs the Netherlands on July 2nd, which is a match that should be in the World Cup final instead. Looks like we have another titanic clash coming up. On the other hand, there is Argentina vs Germany, which is another World Cup final quality match. This is getting very exciting.

Spain, despite facing a near-impenetrable Portuguese defense, managed to lodged in a goal and bought their ticket to the quarter-finals. They will play against Paraguay on July 3rd. Although Paraguay are very strong, I believe Spain have a good chance of beating them. Spain have never played in a semi-final match for a long time, so this will be a great year for them if they manage to reach that high. I hope Spain will advance!

Don't forget about Uruguay and Ghana.

Both have looked like they are capable of winning the world cup.

Diego Forlan, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Asamoah Gyan are all world class playmakers.

Yeah, Kevin-Prince Boateng is one of my favorite players in this tournament. He would have been a great asset for Germany, but I'm glad he chose to play for Ghana.

Since the World Cup is currently held in the African continent, it would be awesome if Ghana manage to reach the final. Although Uruguay will be a tough opponent, Ghana should be fine if they stay consistent.

I don't know what the Germans were thinking... they stopped calling Kevin-Prince up to the U-21 team... he is proving their decision wrong every game...

Although the Dutch were dominated by the Brazilians in the first half, they came out as a totally different team in the second and turned the tide with their balanced play. It was a great victory for them.

Congratulations Uruguay, you managed to cheat your way into the semi-finals.
GHANA.. :'(

Grr, I hope the Dutch will tear Uruguay into pieces. It would be great if the final match is between Spain and the Netherlands, as either team seriously deserve to win the World Cup for once.

I'ma go with the 'stopping the ball going into the net with your hands' bit. I think they broke that rule?

Yes and the ref gave a deserved penalty, which they missed.  Then they couldn't finish the shootout.  Cheats or just bad luck?

Illegally stopping a goal that would have otherwise certainly gone in, so Ghana gets an 80% chance (no idea what the statistics are) to score sounds like a pretty wise move, if you're into cheating.

Suarez took one for the team and it worked.
He'll miss one match and be in the team IF they get to the final.
Now i reckon he's prolly quite pleased with himself, don't you?
Gutted for Ghana, but Gyan shouldn't have missed the penalty.
Now for Germany v Argentina,

Ready - FIGHT!

I love how whenever your beloved team loses it's always because of cheating or a bad ref call. Ever think that maybe, just maybe, the opposing team won fair and square?

It's like 6-year-olds arguing over Capture the Flag.
