Those of you on Facebook
« on: April 30, 2010, 01:56:45 PM »
...plz join this.

Shameless spam, soz and everything, but it's something my cousin (in law? ???) is doing, and it seems pretty much like a good idea.

Giving money to charity, without spamming people for money. Good idea, I reckon.

...and some of the stuff he claims he'll be doing is very interesting.

The goal is to have enough fans to make more companies think it's worthwhile stamping their name on it.

Reported to the trollbait staff. You will hear about this from them shortly and they are very angry.

Didn't you get the memo? Joining things on Facebook is how we change the world.

I became a fan of Justin Beiber last year and look how popular he is now.  I don't think this could've been achieved without facebook.
Why do we fall back to earth? Because our weight pushes us down, no laws, no gravity pulling us. It is the law of intelligence.

The weird thing is that I knew you were trolling, but that still made me raeg because so many people actually believe that.

Breaking News: Joining outrage groups on facebook does not achieve anything, other than provide sloppy journalists with a handy route into a story.

This is true. Joining a group != doing something about it, for one. Also, people have to want to act to begin with, making the group redundant.

It's an OK thing if action comes out of it. Eg organising rallies and so on. But the number of fuckwitted "Join this group to stop Animal Cruelty :(:(:(" invites I get makes me rage.

Case in point: http://www.facebook.com/pages/please-stop-animal-cruelty/35753636532#!/pages/please-stop-animal-cruelty/35753636532?v=wall

I'd rather spend the seconds it would take me to join/like that to textually impart my unwillingness to do so.
