Because I can follow such paths, recording my speed and time (allowing me to easily calculate distance) and find one to be much shorter than the other.

Since you seem so adamant that this is the case, I eagerly await your data which demonstrates it to be so.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

I've done this.  I've flown across the Atlantic and have driven cross-country, both with paths that make sense only in the globe model.  The southern hemisphere simply doesn't make sense with the FE map.  I know if I give an example that goes over an ocean you'll just say it's part of some gigantic conspiracy, so how about something people simply drive across?  Look at Australia here and tell me which path you think will be shorter, red or green.  (No cheating and looking at a globe.)  By the FE model, this should be really obvious, and anyone taking the green route should be at least a hundred miles out of the way, right?

The lines on that map do not cross the Atlantic.

Where did I say they did?  o_O
Thanks for giving away that you're not actually reading my posts.

That was in response to parsifal saying: "I eagerly await your data which demonstrates it to be so."  It's the concept.  Not that path specifically.

So you're NOT going to use the FE model to make a prediction as with the Australia example?

I would like some data.

Outright refusal, hmm?  That's all I needed to know.  I'll give you data when I know you trust the model enough to try and make a prediction with it.  Australia.  Which path is shorter?

No FEers are willing to make a prediction?
