Then Babs, am I right to guess that you do not believe in Divine Foreknowledge?  God does not know what is going to happen?

The bigger question is if he created us to be who we are and make the choices that we make, does that take our free will away?  Or does ignorance to the forecoming choices make the perception of free will.  Which would make the  all too common saying, perception is reality, actually true.

Divine foreknowledge and free will are incompatible as I pointed out a few pages ago.  They cannot both exist.  As for the perception of free will, I would still point out that is not the same as actual free will.  The man locked in the room has no choice but to stay in the room, even if he does prefer to stay in there.

But if he doesnt know hes locked in a room then the perception would be that he isn't.

Yes, but actual free will requires the ability to choose to leave the room, which doesn't exist here.  If he doesn't have the ability, then it is only a perception, not actual free will.

It's like the old question: Is a slave a slave if he doesn't know he's a slave?

Except technically we know we're slaves: at least, those who believe in God do.

So, you want to waste a few hours every Sunday,  and spread the word of some being who has already decided who'll be 'saved' and who has already condemned trillions to be tortured for eternity, and is punishing all of humanity for the sin of two people billions of years ago?

Is Heaven a physical place? Is hell? Are they both "real" in a sense that they are available to us, but we just haven't "crossed the boundary" to these realms, or do they, as God, exist outside of the natural universe? If so, why? And how do our souls, which arguably exist in the natural universe bound to us, cross over, if we can't?

Cuz Christians are not quite comfortable with their sexuality yet. I mean, look at how long it took Catholics! Pedosodomites.

Oh, and I gotta question regarding gays.

You know how some people say that a gay can become straight if he has the will to? Does the same apply to straights; could they become gay if they have the will to?

Having drunkin sex is not the same as changing your entire lifestyle, perspective on yourself, and what you want in life.

Protip: It doesn't matter how drunk you get, you won't do something drunk that sober you would detest doing. You wouldn't have gay sex unless you were already to some degree interested in having it.

It is clear that divine foreknowledge and free will are incompatible.  That is why I asked Babs if he believed that divine foreknowledge does not exist, since it appears he does believe in free will.

Answered "free will" already in previous post here this thread, as well as not being pre-determined futures.

Then Babs, am I right to guess that you do not believe in Divine Foreknowledge?  God does not know what is going to happen?

God can look into our future but does not; he's not some fortune teller being.  That would be like saying, he is going to perform a tarot reading, or read your palm, which would be engaging in mediums or alchemy.  He let's it play out, and we may not be in his favor when doing bad things, but if we turn over a whole new leaf, then we would be in his favor.  The Bible talks about making your mind over and stripping off the old personalities.  (See Ro 12:2; Col 3:9)  It also talks about when one doing bad turns back against wickedness, the previous works are not remembered.  Meaning He doesn't keep score, and then hold it against you for what you did before.  (Ez 3:20; 33:12; & 13 then go back to verse 11 and it will make sense.)

This is actually a good thing, because if we had pre-destined futures of just being badly molded clay and damned from the start - why try and do what is right.  Yet if all are resurrected no matter what, then again why try to do what is right, for you would be a shoe-in or as they say ... in like Flynn.  We all have free will, but many will pray and say, ... let your will be done, because if we pray in accordance with what he wants, we will be guided.  However ultimately, in the "end", it will be God's will.  (And no I don't mean the end of your one dilema.)

Sorry it took so long to answer.

Where does prophecy come from?

You are taking it out of context.
God is not going to look into each person's future.
The prophecies were things foretold, and then fulfilled so "us" believers would know he is God, and that when we see these things happen, we will know the bible is true, and God is truth.
