I believe that time travel is possible but not advisable (this is my personal opinion and is by no means an accepted fact). Imagine the universe as a vessel that travels along a line (time). If I were to jump back further down the line, there would be nothing there as the universe has already moved on from that position in time, leaving you stranded in nothingness, you would essentially be a new vessel on that position on the time line.

I reckon that if you travel in time it pretty much just works like you'd normally expect it to, a la Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Party on, dude!

I also thought into that. But if one changed the past, ones experiences would change as well so memory of doing so would not exist because you would be under the assumption that that is the way things have been therefor no reason exists to do it again. But now I'm into paradoxs so I'll be silent.

This too was handled in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. They meet themselves, but then as the "then them" go forward in time they end up meeting the old "then themselves" in exactly the same way again because there's no other way it could be.

well the other topic has become a bit of a bitch fest ;-)

IMO if time travel were possible someoen would have already done it (ie someone from the future would already have gone to the past and made all the changes that are gonna happen)

like, for expamle, some Jewsih guy went back in time and tried to kill Hitler, he failed, and as a result Hitler became paranoid about Jewish people....

How do we know that wasn't what happened? Like some sort of infinite vicious circle:

Hitler persecutes the Jews, so a time-travelling Jew tries to assassinate him, which makes him persecute the Jews, which makes a time-travelling Jew try to assassinate him, which makes him persecute the Jews...

etc.

Wouldn't it be neat if by some cruel twist of fate a Jewish person from the future accidentally put Hitler in power?  That would make a pretty neat episode of "The Twilight Zone."

That would offend a hell of a lot of people, ironic though it would be
he man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
