Like I care what Obama is by foreign standards.
Plus, Obama isn't Canadian nor European, so the graph doesn't apply to him.
Called it.

This one makes no sense, Obama is the one letting them get off.

Last I checked, in America, you didn't have to study something if it was against your religion, the teacher would give you something else.

Learning something in no way interferes with your religion nor does it violate it. At most they'll let kids out of controversial subjects at parents requests (say a 5th grade discussion on sexuality etc) if the parents would like to teach them instead.

How do you figure? I remember not learning the "big bang theory" in 3rd grade cause of my faith.

Thank you for confirming that which I have long suspected to be true: science really is against your religion.

So your ignorance is both inherited and learned?  This could be an interesting case study of nature vs nurture.

This.

The idiotic superstitions to which you subscribe do not just require ignorance, they enforce it. They are without any merit whatsoever.

You can't honestly believe what you've twisted my words into, can you? Then again I wouldn't put it pass an atheist. I said learning the big bang was against my religion.

If I really thought science was against my religion, I would more than likely be dead without the medical care that science has produced.

So get you head out of your ass and actually read.

Interesting, see I learned all about religion in Philosophy class, our only lessons we could opt-out of were the holocaust lessons or abortion ones when videos were shown.

There are many faults with British education but you have restored a bit of my faith in it.

1. How the hell would learning about a scientific theory be against your religion? You're only supporting my point here.
Perhaps believing the Big Bang Theory is against your religion, and that's your right. But how would merely learning about an alternate viewpoint be such anathema to you.

You're doing a better job of proving my point than I am.

2. I don't self-identify as an atheist.

3. Oh sure, you use the products and services that science produces. The actual scientific method, however, that essential process of rational inquiry that has provided more insight than any other human endeavor, remains lost to you (by your own choice). You do not place your trust in logic, reason, and science, because you have Faith. You trust the results of science, yet you do not trust science itself. You claim to be a modern citizen of the 21st century, but your mind is mired in Bronze Age mythology and ethics.

You maintain this fundamental logical disconnect by means of massive, all-pervading ignorance. As FES has seen, any evidence, no matter how well-reasoned or logical, is immediately discarded should it fail to hold up to the litmus paper of your personal dogma. So really, don't talk to me about science. It's clear that you do not (and never will) understand or accept it.

What? Your parents wouldn't let you hear an opposing theory to what they believed in the third grade, no matter how basic it was and you expect to have a conversation with other people like an adult?

In kindergarten, I made a Christian rage by asking whom out of Adam and Eve or the dinosaurs were created first and why the bible doesn't mention dinosaurs. True story.

Try asking whether Adam came before Eve, or whether the two were created together.

Try asking whether Adam came before Eve, or whether the two were created together.

Interestingly enough, lots of the less zealous Christians I know offer this explanation for that little quirk: Adam was the first human whom God created, genderless, in his own image. When he saw that humanity was incomplete, he created the woman Eve out of Adam's rib, and made minor modifications to Adam, making him the first man.
