There is no way that car can legally be on the road.

Looks to me like they just put all those figurines on it to show them off. Otherwise, the car could technically be legit.

While I wish it were different, Parsifal does have a point.  The Supreme Court has ruled that Native Americans are allowed to drink peyote tea in their religious ceremonies, but nobody else can.  Becoming a "conscientious objector" to avoid being drafted is almost impossible unless you have a religion that forbids war.  Religion has its legal perks.

What parsifal is trying to say is not true, per se. That car would not be legal with all the animals/statuettes and such no matter the religion, as for the writing, it's the same to me as a bumper sticker. Also, a "honor killing" in Islam is still murder in America and the person who committed it would be tried, Muslim or not.

Well this is where it gets a bit controversial, and it goes back to my question from the thread when I asked if sacrifice-based societies should be allowed to practice their religion. The issue is quite difficult to handle. For example, imagine if the bible had said somthing like "every Christian must kill at least one person a week" (inb4 other references) what would the law do?

I don't know but personally I'm glad Christians don't have to do it ::)

You would have, though, if people hadn't misinterpreted the word of your supposed Messiah. I still say I should be well withing my rights to sacrifice goats to God ever Sunday.

I imagined that Parsifal's point was just to make a humorous jab at us, given our history of granting religion legal privileges.  I don't think he was seriously suggesting that the car would be allowed on the road.

Hmm, well in that case I'll just humorously jab back.  Private religious schools in Australia are heavily funded by the government, not vouchers mind you, direct funding with public money. Quite a privilege.

Australia has deemed pornography with small breasts "simulated child pornography" and is adding it to their b& list. That's right ladies, only a pedophile can be attracted to you if you don't have huge knockers.

I actually think the Jesus car may have been something designed for some parade or other where all sorts of strange vehicles are allowed.
