Can we move on now?

You're the one holding onto a two thousand year old fad.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

No. It's mental enslavement.

Christianity isn't a fad....

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fads_and_trends
A fad is a practice or interest followed for a time with exaggerated zeal. The nature of fad is individual. It could be called as an individual/individual society's over interest in some thing which is considered to have consist of some virtue i.e. fad diet, exercise etc. The benefit of something considered as fad may not have been scientifically verified or it may lack the rational proof.

Sound pretty close to it.

I always liked this statement:

"I like Jesus Christ, but his fan club pisses me off"

That depends on how it's implemented; I know lots of rational, well-adjusted Christians. Hell, I'm dating one.

I do too, though I strongly believe our definition of "good effect" differs.

Then how am I supposed to know whether or not the effect she's had on me (from your perspective) is "good" or not? I certainly consider it to be so, although my reasons aren't religiously based.

Also, if you didn't want to discuss the topic, why did you bring it up in the first place?

I never intended for it to turn into a tangent discussion, I just wanted to make a simple statement.

In the end, all you are doing is taking scripture out of context and twisting it to fit what ever point you are trying to make.

I'm sorry, I thought this was common practice in your religion. If I have offended you by twisting it the wrong way, I sincerely apologise.

Nope, it's not. And I find it hard to believe your apology is sincere.

I am confused. Why would you assume I am lying? That's a pretty big accusation from somebody whose religion equates it with stealing, murder, or worse yet, using the Lords name in vain. Also, are you sure it's not a common practice? Whenever I go to Sunday mass, the priest will quote the bible out of context just like I did there, to support the general purpose of the sermon.

I'm not catholic.

Where in the bible does it say to hate gays, again?

It doesn't. It calls homosexual sex an abomination.
What? Even lady love?
