I'm still curious as to why there is no member number 00000.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

I got mine today.  The certificate wording is so cool; is it the same as Johnson's certificates?  The medallion's large and heavy, really really nice.  Thanks to Daniel!

*Edit*  I see on the Membership page that it is Johnson's wording.  Ha, at last I saved Daniel from answering one of my silly questions.  :)

Perhaps because most people start counting at 1.

It just looks ugly to start numbering members from 00001. Not to mention optimistic.

Yes, I suppose leading zeros pretty much belong only on odometers.

Yeah, a bit of card with the letters cut out so you can put it against a wall and use a spray can on it and the words will come out perfectly on the wall

The positive side of me sending your stuff out so late is that you got something I hadn't started making when the first batch went out.

I was very upset to realise that theearthisflat.com is being squatted by a company that sells weirdo exercise bikes seemingly designed to be used exclusively in Nine Inch Nails videos.  :(  At least googling "The earth is flat" returns the FES wiki page which subsequently links to us.

That's rather stupid. They simply use it as a redir to fastexercise. How would you be spelling fastexercise as theearthisflat. You should be the one with that redir, not them.

No, Steve was right. It's optimism. But I'll be looking pretty smart when that 10,000th member joins.

Daniel, if you were truly optimistic, you would have gone to nine digits.  ;)
