Do you honestly think no-one has asked that question before on this forum, of course they only ever get the answer "money" but it seems that question gets asked on a daily basis.

If there earth were round then things would fall off.

But things do not fall off because the earth is flat.

But we think that things will fall off and so we buy things to stop them falling off.

So who can profit by selling us things that stop things falling off?

What about all the other space agency stuff, like discoveries via the HST, and extrasolar planets?

A flat earth, I can handle, no biggie. But I would be devastated to lose all that apparent space-awesomeness from my worldview.

That is only one of many "FAQ"s. I advise any newcomers to read levees FAQ first as it is more informative and resourceful.

Levee's FAQ is garbage. He claims that the Bible was written by Jesuits and the Knights of the Templar and that Noah's flood took place in 1600 AD.

I know. This claim is no more outlandish than the earth being on the backs of elephants or dinosaurs sailing the open seas.

The Earth being on the backs of elephants is a joke based on ancient Hindu mythology.  Almost no one ever gets the joke, so I think we should probably remove that, or at least edit it.  As for the dinosaurs...well, I'm not going to argue with you there.  I think that's ridiculous too.  Still, it's not an official part of FET, and is only believed by a few select members.  The official FAQ lists most of the core beliefs of this society as a whole, and is considerably more plausible than levee's.

That's your opinion. So far I see a lot of discrepancies in the "official" FAQ, as shown by the variety of complaints this site recieves, but non in levees. We can only assume therefore that levees is the more acceptable version.

Also, I don't know how you can say the elephants were put in as a joke. Did you write the FAQ yourself?

Well, of course no one has been debating about levee's FAQ, as it's not an official part of FET, and it's in the believers' section as a strictly alternate theory.  Most new people never go to a forum where they can't post anything, and even if they did, they'd just be told that levee's beliefs are his and do not reflect the beliefs of the society as a whole.

Also, I should point out that your claim of "no discrepancies" with levee's FAQ isn't entirely accurate, as levee used to debate with his model in the discussion forums, and posted his FAQ there originally.  This caused a firestorm of controversy, not only with new members who took one look at it and thought we were insane, but also senior members who often advocate for FET.

The FAQ was written years ago as a collaboration by a few mods and admins.  None of them are active now, but one of them confirmed that the elephants comment was indeed a joke.  Also, the FAQ has been edited over the years by other mods and FE'ers, so it shouldn't really be credited to the original writers so much as the entire society.  Naturally, not a single one of the currently active FE'ers believes in that as well (not even levee).

The reason people don't complain about Levees FAQ is because it is utter garbage not worth discussing. People ignoring you does not mean that you are correct.

Yes. Just as the "official" FAQ is not an official account of the flat earth society. I don't get your point. ??? Levees FAQ is simply a guide to the flat earth. It's there to be read and understood. Preferably in silence.

Cool story. I'll just take your word for it. For any newcomers I can confirm that levee's FAQ is 100% joke free.

I'm pretty sure that he's trolling, but I didn't want to derail the discussion when there were good reasons to not include levee's FAQ in most FE debate.

The point is so obvious that I need hardly make it, but the opinions of trolls don't count as a "groundswell of support".

No, he's accusing trolls of trolling.

Exactly.  You gave a deliberately ridiculous reason to believe that levee's FAQ is true, and you keep bringing it up at every opportunity to try and convince fellow trolls that it's somehow as serious and legitimate as the official FAQ, thereby proving that the website's entire community is as insane as levee.  His FAQ is in FEB for a reason, it's an alternate theory, not an official part of FET.  If you feel that levee's theories merit discussing, then make a separate thread to discuss them.
