Hi. I am a "Round-Earther" and I respect the "Flat-Earther's" opinion on their theory.

I am new to this website, and found it interesting. However, being a junior scientist, I know for a fact that the Earth is round. It is quite evident that it is.

I fail any of you to give one example of proof.

you might want to repost this with a different name, no offense, but trying to get any respect with a name like that is folly

i concur, maybe you should use a tag with the word "kitten" in it. maybe monkey.

kittens are cute, and seldom aggressive.

or monkey, as in i'm going to get loud and throw feces around cause i'm not as evolved as the ppl that are here to debate.

your choice.

IMHO we have enough monkeys already.

No, I would like to leave it like this.

I just want to see ANY evidence you might have, besides some Ancient Greeks thinking the Earth is flat.

Have a look at the FAQ.  There's a link to an online book "Earth Not a Globe".  It contains evidence.

I checked this out myself, ofcourse i didnt bother reading the whole book, but I did check the experiments page, and apperently this guy thinks you can see a curve in the earth within just 6-12 miles. Last time I checked, the US alone was 3000miles wide, and the country alone is pretty small compared to the rest of the earth.

So anyway, you want us to belive a centuries old book that barely has any good evidence over millions of facts and evidence stated by scientists around the world?

But yes! its all a conspiracy, but I can just as easly say that that book was a part of a conspiracy cant I? But ofcourse Id rather say this guy is just out of his mind, thats all.

So instead of telling us to read some book, why dont you get off your ass and make your own proof?

It is proven. I read your FAQ, and the evidence within it isn't correct.

Do you have pictures possibly?

This is quite typical of REer responses -- making wild assumptions based on what seems likely to you to be true.

If you have a perfectly straight, perfectly rigid rod 12 miles long and you put its midpoint on the ground, the ends will each be about 24 feet off the ground.  This is easily computing using basic trigonometry and is the exact number that Rowbotham himself used.

You brought in your preconceived notions of the way the world is, and used those assumptions to determine that the book's evidence is bad.  Otherwise, you would have checked the numbers he gave instead of assuming that they must be wrong.

No, I was saying that it is proven they got 'owned'. They failed to show pictures.

Here it is broken down. This one fact will destroy their whole website.

Go in an airplane. Start at Point A. Travel straight, and you'll end up right back at Point A. This has been proven, and you can do it for yourself. Don't believe me, go try. It can't be a part of this 'conspiracy', because that's impossible. This one simple fact has destroyed you.

I respect that you people have tried, but you must accept you failed.

I have been in an airplane. Actually, hundreds of people HAVE done this and it proved to be correct.

Your theory is destroyed.

Learn their theory before you try to deconstruct it. If you don't, you'll just end up looking like a jack/dumbass.... again.

You're saying that you were in an airplane that flew, nonstop, in a path that did not turn to either side, and you ended up back where you're started?

I don't believe you.

No, but there are quite a few people out there that have done it. You can try for yourself and it'll work.
