High-altitude planes emitting super bright light for days would attract more attention than super bright lights projected from the ground.

Why do satellites resemble stars so well then? How come no one monitors these many planes? The planes would have to be computerized, because satellites obviously can't land, they stay in orbit for many years steadily. Planes cannot be flown by a computer without refueling. These planes would generate a lot of noise as well and would probably be noticed. When was the first satellite made and when was the first plane built that could be flown in a steady pattern by a computer for years?

Right, okay.... I think the point is that you can't see the flags on the moon through a telescope from the Earth, and NASA knows this.

Finally, consider the limitations of astronomical seeing -- that the best viewing conditions from the Earth allow angular resolution of 0.4 arcseconds.  Now suppoose (liberally) that the American flag on the moon is 1 meter wide.  At 361,366,000 meters (perigee for the moon, minus the radius of the moon), the angle subtended by the flag is thus 2 arctan(0.5 / 361366000) = 2.77 x 10^-9 radians, or 0.00057 arc seconds -- much smaller than the minimum resolution of 0.4 arc seconds!

Eight Below is not the same as March of the Penguins. The latter is a documentary that covers a huge amount of landmass of the continent Antarctica and the surrounding ocean water. It could not have possibly been Vancouver, or Alaska, or the Yukon, of NW Territories, or Nunavut, or Greenland, or Russia. It is one and half hours of landscape that could not have possibly been shot anywhere else, especially with the hundreds of penguins. Watch the film for yourself if you don't believe me.

No, but it certainly looked (in Eight Below) as though the filming was done over hundreds of miles of landscape, even though it was really just one mountaintop.  The point is a small region can be made to look much larger than it really is.

It couldn't have been on the Ice Wall as the Ice Wall is the wrong shape and size. As for Antarctic Landmass... that's the continent Antarcitca. It couldn't have been anywhere else as those places lack penguins.
