How about that sun?

Okay, here's a question about the sun.

You FErs say that it moves north and south throughout the year to create the seasons. If that is the case, it would have to move much faster in the south to complete one revolution in 24 hours because its circumference is so much larger. Conversely it would move slower in the north. What causes the sun to change its orbit and speed up/slow down?

Someone said it has an eliptical orbit, but that explanation is inadequate.

Lots of vehicles have tires.  A bug sitting on the hubcap of a rotating wheel would have to move a lot faster if he were to walk out to the rim.  What causes him to speed up?

Faulty analogy. You are only describing the variation in speed, which is what I did in my question. You have not offered an explanation as to what causes the sun to move north and south, slower and faster.

Not quite.  I have offered an explanation as to why the sun moves slower and faster, given that it moves north and south.  I admit that I have given no explanation as to why it moves north and south.

That was my question. What causes it to move north and south, and what causes it to change speed? Your hubcap explanation would make it sound like the sun is revolving on a moving plane in space like a giant record album.

What makes the sun move in a circle? It it tethered to a solar pole? Does the solar wind blow it around? Any object in motion tends to move in a straight line unless acted upon by another force. What is the constant force that alters the sun's path?

The sun is quite obviously being acted upon by a force; namely, the UA force. It is possible that some components of the UA force are in directions other than "straight up".

It's also possible that you guys make up your answers as you go along.

Anytime you don't have a real answer (because one doesn't exist) you hedge by reverting to hypothetical jibberish.
