How did you become an FE'er?
« on: October 18, 2009, 05:45:58 PM »
I'm not here to argue, I'm just curious how different people came to support the positions they do. What drove you to believe in a Flat Earth? Did you always believe in it? Is it based in religion for some of you? Did some of you find problems in the textbooks and the "official story" that could only be resolved by a Flat Earth? If so, what were those problems? Or did you just kind of think "Well, maybe there's more to it than we're being told, and it's worth discussing"?

The Earth is known to be flat as in the Qur'an - the holy book of Islam (a Great and True religion) which contains the Word of God (the Merciful and Compassionate), as revealed to the Prophet Muhammed, blessings and peace be upon his name.

Reading the content on this site with an open mind would convince any sane man the earth is flat.

That's not true.
Obviously there is some sort of attracting phenomenon which affects the stars and planets.

Then call me crazy for still believing that the earth is round.

I had a  mystical experience that led me to question my worldview.  This lead me, eventually, to investigating the Flat Earth idealogies.
If you can't argue both sides, you understand neither

I've never felt comfortable with the standard brain wash your babies culture of ours.  I have a lot of questions I am working out but I feel good about what I've seen.

So you need someone to tell you what to believe?  You shouldn't let anyone tell you what to believe.

At the OP since the rest of you are being douches:  I always kind of knew in my heart, and I'm still not completely sure, but lack of certainty is mostly due to fear.  My attic-roommate Karl is helping me work through some issues right now--helping lead me to the truth, if you will.

I'm trying to remain respect of RE'ers, but it's tough.  Respect is what keeps them in their destructive system of beliefs.  It's as if their beliefs go down hill, and just keep gaining momentum.  It's almost as if they were.....

OH MY GODD

I became an FEer by not assuming what people told me was actually true.

Did you have a DNA test to make sure that you know who your parents really are?

I would have, but I find it to be irrelevant if I was adopted or not. Either way, I would still consider them my parents. If I needed blood, and compatibility was an issue, I would.
If I was asked to imagine a perfect deity, I would never invent one that suffers from a multiple personality disorder. Christians get points for originality there.

If you needed blood, then how do you know you can trust the DNA results?

Blood donation rarely requires DNA testing.  However, determining genetic risk factors for various diseases that may or may not run in your "family" would.
