Difference being, flying along a line of latitude in RE does not require the plane to roll (ie it can remain straight & level) whereas in FE it would have to be in a permanent roll (ie a permanent turn).
Well, pointing your aircraft west and then never referring back to your compass is a good way to get lost regardless of the shape of the earth.
However, it's besides the point when you consider that, because of the horrific distortion of landmasses as you travel towards the "ice wall", anyone flying east/west to anywhere from anywhere would run out of fuel and nose-dive into the ocean before getting anywhere near their destination. As has been pointed out on this site before, navigating via compass from the base of Australia to the base of South America would take six or seven
days longer than expected if the flat earth model is to be trusted.
Of course, you can file this under "questions you will never get a serious answer to".
