In the FE model, how can Earth be the same distance around at 45 degrees north latitude, and 45 degrees south latitude?

It can't very well, can it? That's why there such a discrepancy in distance on the southern latitudes. For example, the error as far south as Sydney, Australia is 2.5 to 1 comparing 'Flat Earth Hypothesis' calculated distance with actual measured distance.
